TRADITIONAL VISIT OF BELGIUM MAREVA MEMBERS

The visit of our Belgian Mareva members has now become an important yearly tradition, bringing the joy of gathering to the Mareva community.

Members of Club Mareva from Belgium have established a tradition of an annual weekend visit to their Mareva club in Split, Croatia. This event always serves as an opportunity for engaging in interesting additional activities, special evenings, excursions, and other experiences that foster a close, family-like bond among the members.

Even though Thomas and Steven missed their early flight, which delayed their direct trip to Split and made the journey more challenging with a long stop in Istanbul, they arrived late at night in great spirits, full of energy to share new stories and fine cigars with all the members who were waiting for them with open hearts.

The following days were filled with tradition – coffee and cigars on the sunny promenade of Split, the famous "Riva," and Bacvice beach delicious meals in charming Split restaurants, and evening gatherings at the Mareva Club, enjoying warm and close moments with members who had come together to welcome them. The special guest was none other than the most famous motorbike rider in Croatia and the whole region – Zeljan Rakela, president of the BMW Motor Club. A legend who has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles for humanitarian causes, journeyed across the globe, and authored a famous book, he came to welcome Thomas and Steve, as they too are passionate motorbike enthusiasts.

One tradition that became especially important was the day trip to Club Mareva’s cigar ranch in the mountains, where they enjoyed the special skills of Thomas, a top specialist in barbecue delights. The mountain sun, a few bottles of fine Croatian red wine with cigars, and Thomas’s expertly prepared meat created moments to remember.

Long conversations around the fire, the rich taste of cigars, and plenty of laughter and fun turned it once again into great Mareva moments, transformed into unforgettable memories. Time flew by quickly, and after the weekend, they returned to Belgium — but only until next time.
