Marko Bilić visits Italy’s legendary humidor atelier, uncovering the craftsmanship behind the world’s most exclusive cigar sanctuaries.

In the realm of premium cigar preservation, DeART stands as a paragon of Italian craftsmanship and innovation. Established in 1962 in Calvenzano, Italy, DeART has evolved from a fine furniture manufacturer into a creator of bespoke humidors and wine cellars, epitomizing luxury and functionality.

Marko Bilić, founder of the International Cigar Club Mareva, recently had the privilege of an exclusive tour of DeART's Bergamo facility. This visit, orchestrated by his esteemed friend Enrico Maria Puglisi, offered Marko an intimate view into the meticulous artistry that defines DeART's creations. Guided by owner Mr. Massimo de Munari, the tour illuminated the company's dedication to excellence.
DeART's portfolio is adorned with notable masterpieces, including the Trinidad 55th Anniversary Humidor. This limited edition piece, auctioned at the Habanos Festival, underscores DeART's role in crafting exclusive humidors for prestigious events. Beyond individual pieces, DeART has designed and installed walk-in humidors for renowned establishments such as The Wellesley Hotel in London and The Arts Club, showcasing their ability to blend aesthetic appeal with optimal cigar preservation.

During his visit, Marko was captivated by the diverse range of humidors on display. DeART offers various types, including static, dynamic, temperature-controlled, limited edition, tribute, bespoke, and masterpiece humidors. Each category reflects a unique approach to cigar preservation, tailored to meet the specific needs of discerning clients.

The dynamic humidors, in particular, caught Marko's attention. These units feature performance manual fill evaporative humidifier systems, ensuring consistent humidity levels crucial for maintaining cigar quality. Models such as the Counter Display Humidor Reverso and the Cigar Humidor Cabinet Reverso-N exemplify DeART's commitment to combining functionality with elegance.

DeART's expertise extends beyond humidors to include bespoke wine cellars and luxury furniture, all crafted with the same attention to detail and quality. Their collaborations with yacht builders like Azimut and Bluegame further demonstrate their versatility and commitment to excellence across various domains.

Reflecting on his experience, Marko expressed profound appreciation for the artistry and precision that DeART embodies. His journey through the Bergamo facility not only deepened his understanding of humidor construction but also reinforced the significance of preserving the heritage and culture associated with premium cigars.
For members of Club Mareva and cigar enthusiasts worldwide, DeART stands as a beacon of luxury and precision in the realm of cigar preservation. Their creations are not merely storage solutions but are, in themselves, works of art that honor the tradition and passion of the cigar-smoking community.
